Timing
The photo must be taken between March 1, 2020 and July 4, 2020.
Submissions will be accepted April 1, 2020 through July 4, 2020.
Participants may submit one photo per month (for 3 months).
Judging will occur after all submissions have been received.
Winners will be announced in August via email and island social media.
Submissions
One photo may be submitted per person per month (3 photos total). All images must be submitted to the email address CuttyhunkPhotoContest@gmail.com with the following information:
1) Name of photographer & location (age if under 18)
2) Type of camera used (i.e.- iPhone, DSLR, etc)
2) Date the photograph was taken (note- must be taken in 2020)
3) Why the photo reminds the photographer of Cuttyhunk
Photo submissions will be confirmed via email within one week of receipt of email. Any additional information required will be requested at that time.
NEW- By submitting your photo to the Oriel Ponzecchi Memorial Cuttyhunk Photo Contest you agree that the photo(s) submitted may be used by contest organizers for island promotions or non-profits. All photos of children will be reviewed and approved by guardians prior to use. No photos will be sold, used or published for profit of any kind.
All photos will be reviewed by a panel of judges. The judges are selected based on interest in art, island culture and preservation. The judges have not been paid and have agreed to this contest out of the goodness in their heart. We thank them for their time and passion for the island. Once selected, the judge's bios can be viewed on the Judges Page.
The judging process will be completed at the end of the summer. Winners will be announced in August 2020 via email and island social media.
Prizes
First Place Prize: $1,000 prize + a $1,000 donation to an island charity of the winner’s choice
Second Place Prize: $500
Third Place Prize: $250
18 under prize: $500 + a $500 donation to an island charity of the winner’s choice
All prizes earnings will be sent via cashiers check to the address provided by the winner(s)
All charities must be based on Cuttyhunk and have a register 501-c3.
